Collect the Story fragments, then assemble them

THRESHOLD paper fragments belong to Episode 1’s Story sequence after the opening encounter with Mom. Search the rooms, collect the Fragment of paper items and complete the assembly interaction when it becomes available. Then follow the next objective instead of continuing to search.

These are not Scrow’s password papers. The Story fragments lead to an assembly step. Scrow’s password papers supply digits for the mall keypad.

Read whether you are searching or assembling

Before checking another room, look at the active instruction. If collection is still unfinished, continue the room search. If the game offers the piece-together interaction, switch to that step.

Checking the instruction saves you from searching rooms after the game is ready for you to assemble the fragments.

Sweep the rooms in a repeatable order

Choose a room, check its accessible surfaces and look for the Fragment of paper interaction. Finish that room before moving to the next, unless the scene forces you away. Keep track of what you checked rather than treating every return through the house as a fresh search.

Before leaving a room, check that you inspected its accessible surfaces and that any visible pickup registered. Walking through the doorway alone is easy to mistake for a completed search.

If you find a paper, complete the interaction and inspect the objective’s response. If the count or task remains unfinished, move to the next unchecked area. Do not assume a fixed fragment count from another recording; use the requirement in your current scene.

If you lose your place, return to a room you left unfinished. That gives you somewhere specific to check instead of starting the whole house search again.

Recover when one fragment is missing

Start with rooms you did not fully inspect. Then revisit an area where you saw a pickup but are not sure it registered. Those are better candidates than repeatedly sweeping a room you already completed.

Do not solve a missing fragment by entering a code at a Chase keypad. If the screen shows a Scrow password objective, you are in a different task; use the code-paper guide.

Complete the assembly and follow the handoff

When the game tells you to piece the fragments together, use that interaction and read what appears next. The Story then moves toward an escape sequence.

Follow the displayed objective or waypoint after the assembly. Watch for the upcoming circle and slide prompts. Those timed inputs need a different approach from searching the house.

Read the car chase guide for those reaction prompts. If you need to place the fragment search in the whole episode, use the Episode 1 walkthrough.

Keep the puzzle separate from ending speculation

The fragments are a Story progression step. Collecting and assembling them does not establish an unlisted alternate ending or a secret password route. Focus on the instruction you can actually complete.

On your first run, watch for the instruction to change from searching to assembly, then movement. On a replay, keep the same room-check routine so that you can tell an overlooked pickup from a task that has already advanced.

FAQ

When do paper fragments appear in the Story?

The fragment search follows the opening Mom encounter. Finish the active opening task, then follow the new instruction.

How many fragments do I need?

Use the collection requirement and assembly prompt in your current scene. Do not assume a count from another run.

What should I do after the last pickup?

Check for the piece-together interaction, complete it and follow the next objective or waypoint.

Do these fragments contain Scrow’s code?

No. Story fragments lead to an assembly step. Scrow password papers belong to a different Chase objective.
